HAMPTON BALLET ACADEMY'S SAFETY MEASURES FOR PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS DURING BALLET CLASSES

**Ballet parents will be asked to alert the Academy if their child or or any family member displays symptoms of, or contracts, Covid-19. That student will be asked to not attend ballet classes until the required 14-day isolation period has been completed, as per government guidelines.

1) BEFORE STUDENTS ARRIVE FOR CLASS

i) All door handles, light switches, teacher's table and disabled toilet and basin to be wiped clean using traditional disinfectant or bleach.

ii) Ballet barres to be wiped clean as above.

2) STUDENTS' ARRIVAL

i) Main glass front door ONLY would be used on Mondays when Drama group is using the Church Hall at the same time as HBA's classes. (On Tuesdays and Thursdays if HBA is the sole hirer, students will arrive and enter via the main front glass door but leave via the side door).

ii) Parents arriving by car would be asked to keep their children in the car till the teacher (Judy Breen) opens the main front door to invite them in. Parents walking to ballet with their children would be asked to wait in the car park area in the same way.

iii) Parents would be asked to send their children to ballet with their own hand sanitiser.

iv) The students would be invited in one at a time where they would be asked to use their hand sanitiser (or be offered hand sanitiser if they had not brought their own) in the front lobby area before being permitted in to the Church.

v) Group size will be 8-10 maximum.

vi) All students will be encouraged to use the toilet at home directly before leaving for ballet. However, if a student has to use the toilet either before, during or after class, they will be reminded to wash their hands thoroughly with soap for 20 seconds. To minimise the potential spread of infection, only the disabled toilet will be used.

3) DURING BALLET CLASS

i) Windows (and when possible, doors) will be opened to provide good ventilation.

ii) At the start of class, students will be placed at the barre with safe spacing of minimum 2 metres between each student. After barre, students will be given places that again will be safely spaced.

iii) The teacher will always maintain a safe distance from students whilst teaching.

4) AFTER BALLET CLASS

i) As students leave, they will be offered hand sanitiser or asked to wash their hands.

ii) The teacher will let the students out of the door one by one to their parents.

iii) Before the next group arrives, all door handles and any other surface points would be wiped clean, including the ballet barres.

5) LEAVING THE PREMISES AFTER ALL CLASSES ARE FINISHED

i) After the last group of students have left, all surfaces will again be wiped clean, including door handles, table, light switches etc, ballet barres and the toilet and basin.

ii) On exiting the premises, and locking up, both main and side door handles would be wiped clean.
